Where there are glaciers, there are also icebergs, and Prince Christian Sound is an ideal spot for berg-watching as they bob around the fjord like massive ice cubes in a lazy river. Icebergs come in all shapes and sizes, and their colors can range from brilliant white to haunting blue, or even dirty gray if they emerge from the bottom of the glacier where it came into contact with the ground. Icebergs are a near-constant companion while sailing through Prince Christian Sound, and passengers enjoy watching them, their shapes as ethereal as clouds—occasionally one will roll or shift in the water as the submerged portions melt and alter the berg’s center of gravity.
