We arrived in Jaffna and it was HOT! The rest of Sri Lanka had been hot, but this was a new level. On our first day there we wandered around the Nullur Temple and ran into not one, but four ice cream parlours. These were not your standard get a scoop of ice cream or Popsicle shops, these were full on crazy Sunday shops. Over five days we managed to try quite a few options at multiple outlets including a Faluda sherbet (bright pink drink with ice cream and pink jelly cubes), a Nelly Crush which is lime green with pieces of pineapple and basil seeds, the Super (pictured) as well as classics such as blueberry and pineapple ice cream or just a chocolate ice cream with cashews.
