Húsavík is a town in Norðurþing municipality on the north coast of Iceland on the shores of Skjálfandi bay with 2,237 inhabitants. The most famous landmark of the town is the wooden church Húsavíkurkirkja, built in 1907. The town is very quiet and charming. Very colorful houses and rooftops characteristic to Iceland. We walked around a bit and visited the Whale Museum before our whale watching tour. Gamli Baukur restaurant is right in the harbor and they have a small menu but oh so good! Only local meats, fruit and veg and the fish caught by the fishermen that day.
