Take a Load Off and Hike
The hiking path to the viewpoints atop Huangshan is dotted with workers who make a daily trek up with provisions for the hotels and refreshment stands along the way. Using traditional shoulder poles made of bamboo, they climb thousands of steps with cucumbers, apples, tofu, water, and even eggs!

The hike can take as little as 2 hours, so if you do go to Huangshan and are in decent shape, try skipping the cable car for a scenic stroll on the mountain.
