Huaca PucllanaWalk the right direction in Lima’s Miraflores neighborhood and with luck you’ll happen on a huge adobe-and-clay pyramid that soars upward, right from the street. The temple, called a huaca, is believed to date from between 200 and 700 CE; admission includes a guided tour and a visit to the museum where artifacts found on-site are housed. The pyramid is gorgeously lit at after dark; there are nighttime tours, too. If you wrap in the late afternoon, try dinner at Huaca Pucllana restaurant, one of the city’s best. Reservations recommended, especially for prized window seats.
