Amid 22 upscale shops (Lululemon, Kendra Scott, Anthropologie, Free People, Paper Source, and H&M) and an eight-screen Studio Movie Grill, the hotel’s back door is an outdoor plaza with green space where kids can run around. Musicians play Wednesday through Saturday. The open-air, European-style development caters to pedestrians and alfresco dining.

Hotel Sorella is well situated in a newly built pedestrian area called CITYCENTRE (citycentrehouston.com) with lots of shopping and dining options. The hotel’s Italian-inspired decor is modern and comfortable. It’s further out on the west side of town, which means better rates than most inner loop locations.
