Riding up winding roads on the back of a scooter with your arms wrapped around the love of your life, to be met with this view on arrival is not something you easily forget.
When we pulled up at the front of Santa Isabel lounge and bar we noticed just a single guy behind the bar about to take out the rubbish. It looked like the place was closed and it was. "We open for the season tomorrow" he said. I could have cried. He must have seen the look of disappointment on my face and I then received the largest gin and tonic I have ever had. Sitting here on our own, music on, bartender pottering around between serving our drinks, overlooking the ocean - it felt like a dream.
Going back to the hotel on a high - was it the altitude being on top of the mountain, the scenery or the gin and tonic? I'll never know. Whomever the barman was that day I don't know who you are but I am forever grateful!
