Quirky but a Great Find!
We stayed at the Hotel Nevada on two visits, once in 2003 and again in 2007. It's an older facility with its share of quirks, but the service is great and it boasts the only table gaming and 24-hour restaurant in town. Be sure to reserve in advance and ask for one of the renovated themed rooms on the upper floors...prices are reasonable and the rooms were very nicely done. Also, ask for the "Highway 50 Survival Kit"...stop in the various small towns between Ely and Reno to have your map signed and stamped, and the State of Nevada will send you a commemorative certificate recognizing you for successfully navigating the "Loneliest Road in America!"
