Fashion Icons + Classic Luxury at Hotel Metropole, Monte Carlo

As I packed for my first trip to Monaco, I dreamed of the iconic fashions of Grace Kelly as I filled my suitcase. And as elegant as I attempted to look, there was no way I would ever parallel the gorgeous surroundings of my hotel. The Hotel Metropole in Monte Carlo was my home for two days, and needless to say, nights I'll never forget.

The Hotel Metropole is just as fashion forward as Kelly, the princess that Monaco calls their own, even years after her death. With a suite overlooking Monaco's famous casinos and a restaurant by Joel Robuchon, this property is drenched in indulgence.

After dropping my bags, I quickly freshed up in my suite's marble bathroom complete with Hermes bath products. Then changed into a new sarong of French silk and headed to the pool.

As if the weekend wasn't already fashionable, I come to find out that the Roman-inspired patio was designed by Chanel's creative director, Karl Lagerfeld. The concept entitled ODYSSEY includes plush black and white seating including cabanas, beds and restaurant tables. I chose a cabana next to a statuesque mural with images of Roman gods. To be honest, I felt like a goddess as I sipped a refreshment while dipping my toes into the sun-kisses seawater pool.

After baking outside, I felt the need to sweat away my cocktails. I headed to the steam room inside the ODYSSEY spa. As if things weren't fashionable enough, The House of Givenchy is launching new elements to the spa in early 2017. I can only imagine how exceptional it'll be.

To finish off my day, I roamed the romantic hallway in a new dress that I purchased during my jaunt in Monaco's city centre. The soft lighting and classic wood finish definitely drew me in.

After a night at the casino and exploring Monaco's unparalleled style, I chose to have one more cocktail at the hotel's bar. I chatted in poor French with the mixologist, whose attentive manor was almost overwhelming. Eventually I made friends with those around me as we continued our conversation on the comfortable sofas adjacent to the hotel's palace-like lobby.

It was then that I realized that no matter who well you're dressed, or how fashion-forward the destination, immersing yourself into Monaco's lifestyle is all about surrounding yourself with stylish company.
