Hotel de la Villa, a Rocco Forte Hotel

Why we love it: An elegant ode to Rome with immaculate amenities

The Highlights:
- Upscale, Sicilian-inspired spa treatments
- Footsteps from Rome’s most prized sites, including the Trevi Fountain and Villa Borghese
- Eat and drink as the Romans do with six onsite options

All of the properties in this Italian hotel collection are landmarks, occupying notable buildings in carefully chosen locations around the globe—and this month’s opening of Hotel de la Villa will be no exception. Situated at the top of the Spanish Steps near sister hotel Hotel de Russie, the historic 18th century palazzo will have 104 upscale rooms and suites designed by Tommaso Ziffer in collaboration with Rocco Forte Director of Design Olga Polizzi. The two worked together to modernize feelings of the 18th and 19th century Grand Tour of Europe through Roman-inspired architecture, earthy color palettes, and rich textures, while also bringing to each room a variety of signature amenities (including Irene Forte Skincare, Rocco Forte's Nourish healthy In-Room Bar, and Rocco Forte slippers and robes). Don’t miss a chance to visit De La Ville Spa, a Sicilian-inspired sanctuary featuring five treatment rooms, a thermal suite, and a Mediterranean salt inhalation room. Follow that self-care with a stop at any of the hotel’s six food and drink outlets, including Da Sistina, a ground-floor trattoria specializing in classic Roman cuisine by way of local produce and biodynamic wines. For a global twist with a hyperlocal vantage point, head to the seventh-floor terrace bar, where a team serves Roman dim sum alongside Champagne cocktails and panoramic city views.
