“Is it a book presentation or is it just an excuse to get drunk?”, I heard someone ask on my first visit to Hostería La Bota. Well… it was both.
The place, owned by writer Antonio Calera-Grobet, serves tapas, calzones, mezcal, and more recently, a selection of Latin-American rums.
Small independent book labels have adopted it as a place to host a mix of presentations, parties and even have turned it into an informal bookstore. One editor told me those gatherings are where they sell most of their copies.
