Hongdae Free Market
Hongdae, Seoul’s main university district, is one of the most youthful and vibrant neighborhoods to roam. Hongdae Free Market takes place on Saturday afternoons when the area is at its liveliest. Dancers and street performers gather to display their talents and artists come out to display their work. Set up like a flea market, rows of vendors arrange stalls and blankets showing off handmade crafts, clothes, stationery, and gifts for sale at Hongdae Children's Park. If Saturdays don’t work, visit the Hope Market on Sundays at the same location. It follows a similar format also selling handicrafts. Since the city has cold winters, the markets only run March through November from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
