Holy Vale Wines
In 2009, Robert Francis planted 7,000 pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot gris vines at Holy Vale, in the center of St. Mary’s. The first wine from Britain’s most southerly vineyard was bottled last summer. There’s not a hint of enological snobbery at Robert’s fun winetasting sessions. In the past, the focus was on his favorite wines from around the world, but in recent months he has proudly added his own whites to the mix.
