Bathing in Bali's Holy Hot Springs
Before I experienced a trip to Bali, I associated Bali with the word "hot"- but would have never paired it with "hot springs." It wasn't until our ship first sailed in to the northern side of the island, arriving to Celukan Bawang, that I learned about this sleepier side of Bali. The south part of the island, around the Kuta area, is where more of the tourism development is located; the northern side is more rural, with the Sing Sing waterfall to traverse, and these Holy Hot Springs to bathe in. Though there were tourists there, mostly locals filled "Air Panas Banjar," the Balinese term for the hot springs.
