In general, Vietnamese cuisine is fresher and healthier than its counterparts around the region. These deep-fried delights, however, are an exception to the rule. Almost like a Vietnamese version of nachos, the dish is a vehicle for the sweet and sour topping which usually involves tomato, pepper, onion and shrimp.
