Travel for me is as much about tasting as it is about seeing. Aided by speedy metabolism, I have a voracious appetite and rarely pass up the opportunity to eat. Southeast Asia, and Vietnam in particular, have a culture of inexpensive, delicious street food. I am pretty sure the health inspector would not have given her "kitchen" a passing grade, but this gutter produced some of the best corn I've ever tasted: grilled over charcoal with a chili sauce for kick. I ate on the street nearly every day across Southeast Asia and India without so much as a grumble from my stomach!
