Wellington has become so well known for its restaurant and art scene that people forget its status as New Zealand's capital. Take a tour to see government workers buzz around Parliament at the iconic building known as the Beehive, and pay attention while crossing the surrounding streets: The walk symbol is a Victorian lady, in honor of New Zealand being the first country to give women the vote in 1893. Nearby, Old St. Paul's Cathedral is an important example of Gothic Revival architecture built out of native wood.
