I picked the Ballard Locks for the best early-morning photo opportunity for Seattle Before8 because it is such a cool opportunity to see ships up close and personal as they travel through the locks. And even though they are heavily visited, arriving at 7 AM when they open will give you ample photograph opportunities without having to fight for elbow room with tourists.
