High Museum of Art
As one of the top art museums in the South, the High Museum of Art was first established in 1905 with a collection of European artwork. Since then, they’ve expanded to regional self-taught artists and modern art. Frequent changing exhibits have displayed everything from designer sneakers to the Xian Terracotta Warriors to the Louvre’s notable works. Outside of the walls of the museum, visitors can see Rodin’s sculpture The Shade, donated as a memorial to the lives of museum art buyers lost in a plane crash. The museum also has interactive outdoor exhibits that encourage guests to get up close with their art.
