Highest Snow Cave in Japan
East of the picturesque city of Takayama you'll find the famous ice cave. It is the highest snow cave of Japan, located 800m above sea level. It is famous for its huge amount of helictites and stalactite formations. As you leave the caves put a coin in the fortune machine to see what's in store for your future! Next to the caves is a privately owned museum of Japanese arts and crafts – a wonderful collection of Japanese arts set in the middle of nowhere. In the museum you'll see a huge gold nugget that was stolen a few years back but returned. Out of the way site that many Japanese tourists enjoy.
