Tucked away in the eclectic Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego, Heat Bar and Kitchen is managed by a French chef and serves up fabulous soups, sandwiches, meats, quiches and deserts. The restaurant uses local and organic produce from nearby Suzie's Farm. You can also find a great wine list as well as local craft beer.
The interior is a warm, 1950's style decor and there are two outdoor patios for seating. The front patio makes for great people watching.
Recently, they've opened for brunch and the truffle quiche with organic greens salad (pictured) is absolutely delicious!
There is a parking lot next door if you want to pay a couple bucks- or you can park down the street for free. This restaurant is located on Park Blvd. and Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo is just a mile or so down the street.
