Nature's Bridge

The perfect place for some dramatic, coastal hiking when you're on the Old US Highway 101 is Harris Beach State Park. After viewing Arch Rock, head south on the well marked Coastal Trail for an incredible out and back hike to the Natural Bridges Viewpoint (pictured). Along the way you'll have sweeping views along the coast and some dreamy miles in the silence and power of those mighty Pine trees. You'll see Deer Point, Secret Beach and Thunder Rock Cove as well, to complete the walk. Harris Beach State Park is just outside of Brookings, Oregon (the the coastal town that sees the most annual sunshine).

Arch Rock is Awesome

Harris Beach State Park has year round camping (60 tent sites and 6 yurts) on the Oregon coast and can be hard to beat when it comes to dramatic and iconic views. Pictured here is the famed Arch Rock and it's a great place to start and finish stretches of the Coastal Hiking Trail.

From beach combing to birding, whale spotting and tide pooling, this state park can be a fascinating place to explore any time of year.

The park was named after the Scottish pioneer George Harris that settled here in the 1880's to raise livestock.
