Europe’s largest mountain plateau—and the largest national park in mainland Scandinavia—Hardangervidda is wild Norway at its very best. The 1,321-square-mile park is the southernmost limit for arctic plants and animals, including the arctic fox and Europe’s largest stock of wild reindeer. The 20-minute panoramic film Fjords, Mountains and Waterfalls is a must-see. The nearby 600-foot-high Vøringsfossen waterfall is a national symbol that has drawn tourists to the area since the late 19th century.
