If you're looking for a spot to roll on a bike where everyone will know your name, this is not it. However, if you're looking for a quick ride on the Washington side of the Gorge with little traffic, fewer technics, and a great long climb to build your CX skills, this is a lesser known one. Do to be detected by the lack of bikes - the equestrian trail (beginning northwest of the Beacon Rock ranger shack) is your playground with a 5-mile, gradual-to-steep-climb to enjoy. The trail runs from a trailer parking lot straight to the top of Mt Hamilton and has many secondary, poach able trails to play on as well. If you're not up for riding, the trail is perhaps even more lovely for hikers with satisfying views to boot. No matter what your method of exploration, this little summit is not to be missed!
