경복궁 (Gyeongbokgung Palace/景福宮)
Palace lake pavilion
On a chilly winter weekend, I strolled through the grounds of Gyeongbokgung, Seoul's largest palace. The ground was slushy and the lake was partially frozen over but the palace was no less beautiful for the somewhat bleak landscape. Entry to the grounds costs KRW 3,000 and includes the National Palace Museum and the National Folk Museum of Korea. Both are good places to warm up a bit before continuing your stroll though the charming ancient village of Bukchon.
