Sleepy Boutique Shops
Once you wrap up a tour of the Confucius Temple, take a stroll down the scholar tree-lined lane for shops both of the traditional and modern variety. The most intriguing shop is undoubtedly Jingcheng Baixing, where you can find increasingly rare Chinese crafts, like the delightfully weird hairy “monkeys” made from flower buds and cicada shells. Take a peek at Lost & Found for updated renditions of Sino-Soviet furniture, and pop into Ruxi for fresh takes on traditional Chinese clothing.
