Basque out in Bilbao
A trip that was eight years worth waiting for. San Sebastian took over most of the agenda but it was surprising Bilbao who stole my heart. A city encapsulated with steel, granite and metal structures as noted by Frank Gehry's touches but somehow meshes with the gritty, urban and vibrant Basque culture. It's as if the two opposing styles have merged and evolved as a unique city among its Basque counterparts.
