The Oldest Place in Texas to Two-Step
The Texas town of Gruene lends itself to many fun activities: river floatin’, star gazin’, wine tastin’, and of course: boot scootin’. Built in 1878, Gruene Hall is perhaps Texas’s most famous and oldest dance hall, with over 6,000 square feet in the main hall and a massive outdoor beer garden. Located right on the banks of the Guadalupe River, you can float the river in the summertime, head to The Gristmill for dinner and their famous Jack Daniels pecan pie, and then walk a few minutes over to Gruene Hall for an evening filled live music and two steppin’.
