If you've traveled all the way to Tromsø, you're most likely hoping to catch a glimpse of the northern lights. The season to catch the lights is as early as August and as late as April. If you're lucky and the sky is clear and activity is strong, you can catch the lights in the city, but for a really special view, you'll probably want to get out of town.
Green Fox Guiding is one of the many lights tours offered in Tromsø, but having gone on more than one tour, I found the more laidback, fun spirit of Green Fox Guiding to more liking.
Jacek, the owner, is a personable, fun tour guide that does his best to get to know his patrons and chase the lights. Get cozy in your thermal suit, set up your tripod, cook a sausage over a campfire and lay down on your reindeer skin and enjoy the dancing lights of the aurora borealis.
Make sure to call in advance to book a seat. Green Fox Guiding is a smaller company and each tour has a max. of maybe 8 to 10 people. Included is a thermal suit, tripod, food, campfire, reindeer skin, transportation, and photos taken by your guide.
