Every guest's favorite: Kamakura's Big Buddha
Most of our guests rank Kamakura's Great Buddha (Daibatsu) statue as one of their top ten highlights, if not their favorite. I can't blame them. Even on crowded days, one can't resist the feeling of serenity that envelops the grounds. From Kamakura station, take the Enoden line to Hase for a 10-minute stroll past trinket shops and cafes on your way to the Big Buddha. Hase Dera temple's gorgeous view of the ocean and Mt. Fuji -- on a clear day -- are worth a stop while you're in the area. If you feel like seeing more of Kamakura's backstreets you can walk back to Kamakura station (about 30-40 minutes). See the link below for a map and more info (cost, hours, etc).
