I know, I know, Lollapalooza may be a little overpriced and overrated. But the truth is, it is still one of the best music festivals in the country. Amazing live performances by well-known artists and new talents, worldwide travellers, a quirky farmer's market and an insane fashion street show merge together in this 3-day festivity.
It's been a little more than 20 years since the first Lolla in 1991, when Perry Farrell, lead singer of Jane's Addiction, planned a festival that would bring music, culture and community together. Great acts like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arcade Fire, Coldplay, Kanye West, Metallica and Beastie Boys have been headliners.
Early Bird tickets are literally gone in less than four minutes, while regular passes can last up to one day. They go on sale on early April, so if you really want to join the biggest summer party in Chicago, I'll suggest to stalk the Lolla website like mad.
Lollapalooza is the coolest music festival in the country. Sorry Coachella fans.
