Some call this natural formation on the island’s rugged southeast coast the Washing Machine. Grand Fond is a series of natural pools that are surrounded by rocks, swept by the tides and teeming with sea life and coral formations. It’s about a 30-minute trek from the parking area to get there, and you’ll need sturdy shoes to scramble over the path’s uneven terrain. But the unparalleled views of the island’s wild interior, sea cliffs and coastline are well worth the effort. Note: Swimming isn’t recommended here.
