Golden Driller
The 76 foot tall Golden Driller was originally built, and temporarily displayed for the 1953 International Petroleum Exposition then permanently constructed in 1966 for the same event as a tribute to the men of the petroleum industry. There is rumor that it is the largest free-standing structure in the world but I cannot confirm that. I can say that it is definitely worth a picture or two. The odd statue is situated in front of QuickTrip Center, site of the Tulsa Fair.
