Casa Bianca has the best of both worlds: the accommodations are beautiful and comfortable, and it’s ideally situated. The interior has elaborate parquet floors, and is minimally, but attractively decorated in a way that honors its past and has a contemporary edge. The dining room is attractive, and guests can even take their breakfast out on the balcony if the weather suits. All this, right across from Park Mont Royal—Montreal’s namesake park, offering hiking, biking, and afternoon lounging of all kinds immediately outside your door. (Or, if you’re more the urban adventurer, it’s within walking distance of some Montreal‘s coolest neighborhoods.) It was the first place we stayed, and the perfect beginning to our trip. Our only regret was that we hadn’t booked it at both ends of our journey!
