Giant Puppet Parade
The Giant Puppet Project, Cambodia’s largest community arts effort and takes place every February in Siem Reap
. Basically it is a lively, night-time carnival on the city's Pub Street featuring a parade of huge glowing figures up to 30 meters long, carried by the local, at risk, children who have helped make them. The event is designed to help these children learn about their country’s culture and wildlife, and the puppets embody folk-tale legends, endangered native animals and other cultural figures.
