The first thing that grabbed me was the beautiful building, built by the Conservation Corps back in the late 1930s or early 1940s. It is in the midst of a beautiful state park. I visited The Lodge on a Sunday and had the Fried Chicken dinner--the only option on Sundays. It was a good old-fashioned family style dinner. My only regret was that I didn't have time for a hike to walk off some of the good food I ate.
