Gates Pass is just outside Tucson, over the mountain to the Desert Museum and Saguaro NP West. Short and long walks, mountainsides studded with cacti hundreds of years old, rocks and rattlesnakes make this a great spot for adventurous types. And 30-something parents with kids in tow.
