Parisian Brasserie Fare in the Financial District
Whether you eat in the sexy downstairs lounge or the posh upstairs dining room, this French brasserie in the Financial District, is the city's hottest, new dining spot. The latest from Franck LeClerc (of Café Claude fame), it does a traditional Parisian bistro menu with offerings like wild flounder grenobloise grilled bavette steak, as well as some of the best steamed PEI mussels and frites in town. Each Saturday the downstairs dining room is transformed into a mid last-century Parisian jazz club and live jazz is served along with vintage cocktails and a choice for a three-course prix fixe menu (the full menu is also available). The second floor Cognac Room bar is also noteworthy with a focus on brandies and brandy cocktails – there are some 50 different brandy-based cocktails on the menu.
