Set on 37 acres, Ganna Walska Lotusland is a botanical wonderland made up of over 20 different gardens. Set in the former estate of Madame Ganna Walska, an oft-married Polish opera singer who purchased the property in 1941, visitors what through the Japanese garden, the topiary garden, the water and cactus gardens, and through an orchard. It's entirely possible to get lost in all the colors, flowers and plants that Walska installed. (She auctioned off some of her jewelry in order to finance her the cycad garden, what would become her final endeavor before her death.) Lotusland is located in a private residential neighborhood, so it's essential to book in advance to join a docent-led tour.
