How did people live in days gone by? The old houses at this open air museum in Bengtsfors reveal the lifestyle of people in rural Dalsland in 19th century. The collection of original houses from the mid 1800s have carefully been transported from their original sites, and transported to the museum area where they have been rebuilt. There are 20 houses of different kinds, from the poor man’s tiny cottage to the wealthy farmer’s house. There's also a hay museum that exhibits traditional and contemporary hay handicraft.
