As a native New Yorker, I am particular about my pizza. I like places that lack fuss and instead throw their heart into the pie. Galleria Umberto is this kind of place.
Umberto is open from 11-2 pm everyday for lunch. The slices are Sicilian--cut into rectangles, the way that my family makes them in Italy. I recommend the golden arancini balls, which are delicately stuffed with old-fashioned bolognese. You cannot go wrong.
