Marillenknödel: Delicious Apricot Dumpings
While Strudel and Sacher Torte easily fall from the lips when discussing Austrian pastries, there is one sadly overlooked. The Marillenknödel is an apricot dumpling found across Austria and Bohemia, but particularly notable in the Wachau region. Gablerbräu in Salzburg may not have the best in Austria, but enjoying these dumplings among the rustic wood panels and tile stoves made them a particularly sweet treat.
