This breakfast was surprisingly delicious and filling. We exited the Cairo airport and asked our taxi driver to take us to get some ful (FOOL or Fa-OUL, I've heard it pronounced both ways by locals). Being near the spice market capital of the world, I was expecting an array of spices. Yet was amazed by the simplicity of the dish. Imagine 'wetter' re-fried beans, a wheat naan tasting bread, with a side of fried eggplant, hummus, and a mixture of pickled and fresh veggies. The best part is that this meal was about 15 cents. Don't be afraid to try the local food in any country, you will be pleasantly surprised and it's often MUCH cheaper than eating typical tourist food.
