Where the Couch Isn't for Sitting...
The Freud Museum in London is off the beaten path in a lovely part of the city, and the museum is a house and garden well worth the visit. The entrance fee is much less than the cost of a psychoanalytic session, but you only get to see the couch, not recline on it. The gardens make for a quiet, meditative experience if you avert your gaze from Louise Bourgeois' spider sculpture. No photos allowed to give you nightmares.
