Frank Family Vineyards

Wine tasting in Napa
San Francisco is my 2nd favorite city in the US and a visit to San Fran is not complete without a drive up to the wine country. I love wine and visiting wineries is one of my most favorite leisure activity. Of course, when you consider the gorgeous vineyards and the delicious wine, who could resist a trip to Napa?

If you start early and you have a designated driver, Napa can be a day trip from the city. Or you can stay at a hotel and B&B and spend a weekend. There are several huge wineries and I recommend doing a little research to plan your route. When my boyfriend and I go, we like to visit a big name winery along with a couple of lesser-known wineries. You do this a few times and eventually you'll have your favorites. Summertime can be really busy so it's best to call ahead and make reservations if you can. And if you want to see the vines full of grapes then it's best to come during summer and early fall before harvest time but I also really like seeing them in the spring when the fields are covered in yellow wild flowers.
