Up in the Mountains, a Walk around Lonesome Lake
We pulled into the Lafayette Campground in Franconia Notch State Park with just enough time to go on a short hike. Lonesome Lake was the perfect destination. We spent 2 hours hiking up and poking around. It could easily be done in less time, but we took our time. There's also a lodge run by the Appalachian Mountain Club right next to the lake if you want to spend the night in a gorgeous, quiet spot. The boardwalks around the lake were my favorite part.
