Fort York National Historic Site
To get a perspective of Toronto's past, there's no better place to start than at Fort York National Historic Site. This year-round site offers interactive and educational activities for families and children as visitors learn about its history as a key trading post and military stronghold in the events leading up to the War of 1812. Captured and destroyed by American troops in the war, this site would be re-excavated and reconstructed in the early 20th century.
