If you enjoy history brought to life, this is a must-see experience. Ft Vancouver was established in the 1840s as a part of the trade route used for Hudson's Bay Company. While you can experience Ft Vancouver in the day and see what life was like over 150 years ago in the Pacific Northwest, I found it to be even more intriguing with a night visit. Instead of using electricity, the entire tour is operated as if you're stepping back in time to a night in the 1840's, and must travel from building to building by candlelight. Imagine all 50 or so guests walking with lanterns to illuminate our path. We peek in on what life was like: we visit a dance, a general store, the doctor's office. Volunteers act out performances in each building, allowing us to get a true feel of the good times and the bad.
