Explore Fort McAllister State Park
This is a beautiful state park burrowed among giant oak trees and Spanish moss. Located just outside Savannah on the banks of the Ogeechee River, this land was a focal point during General Sherman's "March to the Sea." A great place for outdoorsmen, history buffs, or families looking for something off the beaten path. There's a Civil War museum and gift shop there as well.
