Fort Chambly

Fort Chambly National Historic Site
Residing in the Montreal suburb of Chambly lies a fortress which went unnoticed for nearly a century. After excavations and reconstruction in recent decades, Fort Chambly National Historic Site retells the story of Lower Canada's French settlers and their forgotten 17th century entanglements with British settlers living down the Hudson River in New York and nearby Massachusetts.

In addition to touring the fort itself, walking and bike paths surround the grounds as it overlooks the Richelieu River. Free parking is available.
